SoundRec

Free Screen Recorder, No Watermark

This recorder is free and adds no watermark, no time limit and no sign-up. It saves an MP4 in Chrome, Edge and Safari (WebM in Firefox), and the video is made on your computer, so nothing is uploaded.

Pick what to share and the sound, then press Record.

What to share

Free, no watermark, no time cap: screen, computer sound and microphone on.

What you get, and what limits it

  • No watermark: the file is exactly what you shared.
  • No time limit: the only limit is your computer's memory, since the video is held in the tab until you save it. A 30-minute recording is roughly 0.9 to 1.2 GB.
  • MP4: Chrome, Edge and Safari save MP4, which plays on phones, in PowerPoint and on most upload sites. Firefox saves WebM.
  • No account and no upload: your recording never leaves your device.

What it doesn't do yet: trim, captions or a shareable link. Download the file and share it the way you share any video.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. Recording, playback and download are free, with no watermark and no cap.

Why is my file WebM and not MP4?

Firefox can only make WebM. Open the recorder in Chrome, Edge or Safari for MP4.

What resolution is the video?

The size of what you share, up to your screen's own resolution, at 30 frames a second.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in your browser; the share window is your browser's own.

Ask people before you record them, on a call or in a meeting.
