SoundRecScreen Recording Has No Sound? Here's Why
Almost always, one of two things: the recorder can't take your computer's sound (QuickTime on a Mac, Safari and Firefox), or the audio switch in the share window was off. The banner below tells you what your browser can record; then share the screen or a tab with the audio switch on.
Record 10 seconds first: the recorder warns you if no computer sound came through.
The causes, by computer

The recorder checks after you share: if you asked for computer sound and none came through, it says so before the recording starts, so you don't find out after a long take.
Fix a screen recording with no sound

Questions
Why does my Mac screen recording have no sound?
QuickTime and the Screenshot toolbar record the microphone but not the sound your Mac plays. Chrome 141 or later on macOS 14.2 or later can record it with no driver.
Why does my recording have sound from YouTube but not from an app?
You shared a tab, which carries only that tab's sound. Share the whole screen with system audio for every app's sound.
Can I add sound to a silent recording afterward?
Not with this recorder. Record again with the audio switch on; the 10-second test catches it first.
Can a phone record its screen with sound here?
No. Phones don't let a web page record the screen. Use the phone's own screen recorder.
